I just read in "Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker" that you can make tamari almonds in the crockpot, which might be a low enough temperature to prevent those free radicals.

Those look yum! Hope Dan's baptism goes well tonight. Is he going to scream when you have to hand him over to the priest/pastor?

We'll be thinking about you.

I eat these all of the time, but usually purchase ready-made ones and they are so expensive. I am happy to learn how easy it will be to just make some myself! Thanks for the great tip!

I used to LOVE tamari almonds. It was a great day when I figured out that I could just make them myself! The first few weeks after the Little Pottamus was born I ate them in the middle of the night when I'd wake up starving and needing to nurse him. Interesting tip about the high roasting temp. I'll have to think about that the next time I roast nuts.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I love this blog! These sound really yummy...but I read here: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=george&dbid=104 that roasting nuts at a temperature higher than 170 degrees causes the production of free radicals, so maybe I'll try roasting these at a lower temperature for a little longer. But thanks for the idea; it's great. =)
