Congrats on completing your first DB challenge. The cake looks amazing; and I love the idea of using lemon flavoring to keep with the "light" theme. Hooray! I look forward to seeing more awesome bakes in the future!

That is impressive indeed, Natalie. I find gluten-free baking daring enough without adding many pages of Daring Baker instructions, but you are a Master!

Bravo on your opera cake!!!!!

Thanks everyone!!

Kay- Have you tried grinding regular sugar and arrowroot starch in a food processor? That might work as a substitution. Thanks! :)

That's a fine looking cake! With hot weather just arriving, lemon sounds particularly refreshing to me.

I can't use icing sugar because of the cornstarch. Do you think I could substitute regular sugar in the cake? I might just give it a try. Yours looks so yummy!

Your cake turned out just beautiful! Love the lemon idea; think that's what I would have gone for, too. Hope it tasted as great as it looks.

Gorgeous! I keep considering throwing my blog into the Daring Bakers' ring but haven't taken the plunge yet. This inspires me--maybe next month!
