Thanks so much for this! I just learned this year that it was gluten making me so sick for the last 3 years. I love fried onions so much, I was devastated (sorry to be overdramatic) that they're covered in ugly gluten. I made mine with the onions sliced very very thin. I can't believe the result, they're amazing! This is so much better than the canned variety, and gluten free too?! :D :D :D

DRYING SUGGESTION: After you drian the onion rings on a paper bag OR PAPER TOWELS - leave them out to dry on the a fresh paper bag or paper bag instead of placing them in a container. They will be much tastier and crispy.

The only problem with these onion rings is keeping everyone from eating them to use them in the casserole!

These are the absolute best! We made a double batch and I barely have enough left for the casserole. You made 4 kids and two adults extremely happy

I was looking for a green bean casserole like I remembered growing up with. I just googled it and up popped your site- glutenfreemommy. Thanks for this recipe. I will be sure to try this at Thanksgiving since mine last year wasn't as good as I remembered. I found a Homestyle Creamyt Mushroom Soup by Pacific that I am going to try for the soup part of the recipe. I read the ingredients list and it seems to have all of the same things in it. If it is not thick enough I will add the roux to it to thicken it up a bit. but I am excited about the onion rings. Happy Thanksgiving.
