I had to start eating wheat free since I was 12, and now I am forteen. I have grown 5 inches and gained ten pounds, which is amazing! i was still confused why my hair wouldn't grow as fast as all my friends, and I couldn't figure it out until the other day. I wasn't using a gf shampoo and conditioner! So, I am going to try Pantene today!

Anyways, thanks for the list! I am going back to school soon and I am sick of my usual lunch: GF sandwich, clementine, bar, and cottage cheese. It got boring after the first week!
Thanks again!

P.S. Udi's Bread and Udi's Tortillas are amazingly good! Store bought.

Great ideas from you and ~M. I'd never heard of frozen grapes. I love hummus with veggies. I'm lazy and buy the mini carrots that are already peeled. They have a bit less nutrients, but still good for you. I love dried fruit too: apricots, cranberries, apples, etc. Although I must admit that I do cave-in and have a Snickers from time to time. :)

Thanks for posting such a nice list of snacks. Even when we know what we can eat sometimes in todays busy world we forget about the simple things that are so easy to grab & snack on. I will be sure to refer back to this post!

Good timing here. I'll have to use this list as I pack our carry on food. They don't have a gluten-free menu for airplane food and I have a bad feeling the fruit plate is going to be just melon. :-/

Great post; I love having so many ideas in one place. Here are some other variations that I like and additional recommendations:
- any root vegetable fries: carrots, rutabaga, parsnip (I usually only serve with some sea salt)
- edamame with sea salt and lime rocks
- if you find oranges a pain to peel, or too tart, try satsumas
- I freeze banana slices (sometimes with chocolate or nut butter) and they are a wonderful bite-sized treat
- an avocado with a bit of sea salt or homemade guacamole (you can cheat and mix partially mashed avocado with a spoonful of salsa, add lime, and salt)
- poached eggs or over easy eggs are great, too (I usually eat these with steamed broccoli to soak up the yoke instead of toast)
- steamed greens (my favorite for this is chard) with a balsamic reduction (Brendon of Something in Season's recipe) or steamed broccoli or frozen green peas
- stir-fried or sauteed baby bok choy with a drizzle of dark sesame oil and some toasted sesame seeds
- a handful of dried cranberries
- green apples with cheddar cheese is lovely in fall; other apples are great with honey
- I use my Cuisinart to shred carrots and apples, add a bit of lemon juice and olive oil, and you have a tasty, crunchy salad
- stewed prunes or fruit compotes: I soak the prunes for a few hours in OJ and then heat them covered for 30-45 minutes over low heat; sometimes, I add cinnamon
- a spoonful of Peanut Butter & Co.'s dark chocolate and peanut butter (we buy this from amazon, where it's the cheapest) or creamy cashew butter
- a spoonful of homemade almond butter, made fresh in the Cuisinart with almond oil and raspberry honey
- fresh mozzarella balls with grape or beefsteak tomatos (in the summer), plain, or with basil, olive oil, and balsamic
- hummus whips up easily in the Cuisinart (my favorite is the carrot version from Fat Free Vegan because it's so light without the tahini) - serve with crudites
- I love Elana of Elana's Pantry homemade power bars, made with almonds/other nuts, nut butter, flax, shredded coconut, and a bit of dark chocolate (the texture is great - no big chunks - and there are no dates, which I sometimes get bored with)
- fresh figs when in season with goat or cream cheese, a drizzle of honey, and black pepper (this might be Brendon's recipe too)
- If you have a Cuisinart, can eat nuts, and have some leftover or cheap red wine or even pomegranate juice, I highly recommended having a go at making a version of charoset (a Jewish passover food) - thousands of recipes abound. I have a charoset tasting at my seders, with 5-6 different kinds, made with different combos of fruit, nuts, and spices that I process to different consistencies. I eat this by the spoonful for days afterwards (it is better if left to marinate for a while like salsa).
